Astraware Galaxy Ranger Features:

How to install

Choose whether you want to install the greyscale game or the color game, and install either Galaxy-colour.prc or Galaxy-greyscale.prc by double-clicking that file.

Use the HotSync button as usual to install the game onto your handheld.

Now run Galaxy and tap the screen to play the game!

If you've got any queries about Galaxy Ranger or the registration process, first check out our frequently asked questions page on our website (you must be connected to the internet to access this). If this doesn't help, get in touch with us at support@astraware.com. If you've got any questions (or suggestions, we love those) about the game itself, please get in touch with us at the email address at the top of this page.

Playing Galaxy Ranger

Install and run the game on your Palm.
Tap the screen to start a game!

Galaxy Ranger is in three scenes, each starting with a scene-setting introduction. Click on Next to work through the pages in the introduction, or Skip straight into the action. If you're bored of the cut-scenes, you can turn them off in the Game Settings page (you can get to this by opening the Options menu).

Once you're in the action, just tap an alien to give it a blast from Dirk's raygun, or hold the style down to give the alien a stronger dose of justice! All the aliens take a different amount of energy to destroy, and you'll need to watch your energy meter at the bottom right of your display, because once this is out Dirk is defenseless until it starts to recharge! When you shoot an alien, it will be stunned for a moment, but some of the aliens also don't take kindly to your laserfire, and if you don't get rid of them in one go they'll shoot you right back...

Though he's a hero, Dirk Nebula can only take a certain amount of damage or he'll fail to save the world! Keep your eye on his health meter, and make sure you get those aliens before they get you so that you don't get hit too often. As a hint, watch how often each type of alien shoots you, and how much damage it does so that you can target the most dangerous foes first!

The shareware version of the game contains only the first scene. Register to continue and save the earth!

Registering

You can play 10 games of Galaxy Ranger level 1 for free, as you decide whether you like it or not. After these games are up, the program will display a short message asking you to register.

When you register for Galaxy Ranger, you'll get a key which will unlock the full 3-level game and remain valid for future 1.x upgrades. Go to the Galaxy Ranger web page at http://palm.astraware.com/ranger/ for more details.

You'll need to know your HotSync ID which you can find by running Galaxy Ranger, and going into the menu, and selecting the 'register' option. Your HotSync ID will be filled in for you below. Also see our support pages for more information

When you register, we will generate a key based on your ID, which will normally be sent out by email within 48 hours of you registering. When you receive your key, go to the same register option, and enter the key into the space provided.
