Palm cradle connector, Palm Nullmodem and Ethernet Rj45 UTP cross cables.
Help for exponential names and their values.

After having launched the application the following screen appears:

Select the desired function by tapping the text.
You can at any time access the online help system by tapping the menu silkbutton and choosing help. This can also be accessed by command stroke and h. Or by tapping the i in the top right hand corner.

Resistor Color Coding

screenrescol.gif (2032 bytes)

If you at any time wish to return to the function selection screen, simply tap the back arrow at the top of the screen.

In the top right corner you can choose 4 Rings or 5 Rings depending on the precision of the resistor.

Select the colors in the lists and the value will be displayed in the Value field.

You can also input the value using K for Kiloohm and M for Megaohm and then tap the Show button to have the colors displayed.

By tapping the Precision's text a screen containing information regarding precision's will be displayed.

It is possible to have the resistor value rounded to the nearest EIA value by selecting the trigger next to the Show button. Select E12, E24 or E96 to have the value rounded to the selected value.

Resistor IEC Conversion

This is used on SMD resistors.

Input the markings in the field, and then tap the down arrow to get this converted to a value.

You can also input the value using K for Kiloohm and M for Megaohm and then tap the up arrow to get this converted into the marking.

Capacitor Color Coding

Choose the colors from the bands starting from the top and the value will be displayed in the value field.

You can also input a value in the value using N for Nanofarad, µ for Microfarad. Then tap the button Show to get this displayed as colors.

Tap the text Precision to have information regarding precision's displayed.

Tap the text Volt to have information regarding Voltages displayed.

Capacitor IEC Conversion

Input the markings in the field, and then tap the down arrow to get this converted to a value.

You can also input a value in the value using P for Picofarad,N for Nanofarad or µ for Microfarad. Then tap the button Show Me to get this displayed in Markings.

You can select Other in the category list in the top right corner, this will enable input of markings from other systems than IEC
I.e. 3n3 or 472K or 0.22.

Tap the text Precision to have information regarding precision's displayed.

Res. & Cap. Calculations

Here it is possible to calculate the replacement value for resistors in parallel or capacitors in series.

Input up to 4 values and tap the down arrow to get the replacement value.

If you input a value in the replacement value you can select one value by checking the checkbox. Then tap the up arrow to get the resistor value calculated.

Misc. Calculations

It is possible to get 3 basic equations calculated. Input 2 out of the 3 values and tap the Button Go to have the last value calculated.

You can input resistor values using K for Kiloohm and M for Megaohm.

Connectors

This function gives information on connector types.

Select the desired connector by tapping the Category selector in the top right corner.

Cables & Interfaces

This function gives information on different cabletypes and interfaces.

Select the desired cable type by tapping the Category selector in the top right corner.

Tap the text Pin References to get additional info on the selected cable type.

Semiconductors

This function gives pin references on discrete semiconductors. This includes Transistors Scr's Triacs and Integrated voltage regulators.

Select the desired type in the list, and the appropriate pin reference will be displayed to the right.

Exponential names and their values

By tapping the menu button and selecting Options, Exponential names the following help screen is displayed.
