Puzzles-In-Motion Release 1.2.1 August 7, 2000 What's new in this release: - Puzzle Pak 3, Puzzle #10 has been modified. It CAN be solved the way it is, but the solution will not match the solution shown in "Puzzle Pak 3 (Solutions)". (The author Mick Geronimo had it working, but we managed to mess it up just before we posted it!). Release 1.2 August 7, 2000 What's new in this release: - Puzzle Pak 3, created by Mick Geronimo, has been added. - The "Database" and "Puzzles" menus have been streamlined. - Fixed a bug in the Puzzle List that would sometimes cause more than one item to be highlighted at a time. - Reduced "Tutorial Puzzles" to a few representative puzzles for a quicker look at what P-I-M is. Some people looked at the tutorials that we had before and quickly decided that the game was too simple. - The monochrome version of P-I-M will run on a PalmIIIc device (in monochrome, of course), while the color version runs only on the PalmIIIc device. Release 1.1.1 July 29, 2000 What's new in this release: - Fixed a bug in the solar cell and the generator objects which could cause them to generate a negative voltage to the power outlet, which can cause serious damage to anything plugged into them (just kidding). - Fixed a bug in the conveyor where objects would smack into the bottom and be pushed in the wrong direction (if the top of the conveyor moves right, an object hitting the bottom of the conveyor should be pushed left). - Modified a puzzle in Puzzle Pak 2 that broke when the bug above was fixed. - Added feature to flash goal-enabled objects whenever the puzzle goal is displayed. Release 1.1 July 27, 2000 What's new in this release: - Added a menu item in edit mode to show all objects that are goal-enabled. - Added alert box that appears if no objects are goal enabled when leaving the puzzle editor. - Added an object nudge feature. A method to control the fine placement was requested by a couple of puzzle authors. Position the object using the normal drag method. To nudge the object, use the stylus in the handwriting area and stroke a forward, reverse, down, or up motion with the stylus. The object will be nudged by 1 pixel. This only works with objects that can be positioned at the pixel level (doesn't work with walls, conveyors, etc.) The up stroke, by the way, is actually a combination of up and down. The object nudge works in either play or edit mode. - Fixed minor problems related to running properly on PalmOS 3.5 devices. - Fixed bug related to dragging an object from the toolbar to the very top of the screen, where it can vanish and cause other small problems. Release 1.0.2 July 17, 2000 Puzzles-In-Motion can be registered at the following Web sites: www.palmgear.com www.handango.com These Web sites will send Technical Software Solutions your user information, and we will send you a registration code to unlock all features of the program. Release 1.0.1 July 9, 2000 I will keep this short and sweet so that you can begin playing with Puzzles-In-Motion as quickly as possible. What changed from version 1.0 to 1.0.1? A small amount of reformatting to a dialog box related to puzzle versions. The dialog box only needed to be changed for when version 2.0 becomes available, so the changes won't even be visible until then! Otherwise, nothing changed. The Documentation ----------------- Use your browser to view the "P-I-M.htm" Web page. When you extracted the zip file, the images for the documentation should have been created in a directory called "P-I-M_files". If that directory didn't get created, all the images will not be visible in the doc. Installation ------------ Install Puzzles-In-Motion.prc and all *.pdb databases using the Palm desktop installer. There is fairly extensive help available at all times within the game. Just press the Palm menu key, then select 'Help' from the 'Options' menu. Don't forget to select the 'i' in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog boxes for more extensive help on a given topic. If you have NOT registered -------------------------- If you have NOT registered Puzzles-In-Motion, you will be allowed to solve puzzles only in the "Tutorial Puzzles" database. The solution database, which contains the solved puzzles, will not be playable. The "Puzzle Pak 1" puzzle database and the corresponding solution database will also not be playable. The "Tutorial Puzzles" contains 5 sample puzzles. If you have registered Puzzles-In-Motion ---------------------------------------- If you have registered Puzzles-In-Motion, you will have access to all freeware puzzle databases, including "Puzzle Pak 1" and the solution database, "Puzzle Pak 1 (Solutions)". If a puzzle database author has chosen to make his puzzle database shareware, you will be able to play a certain number of puzzles for free, but the remainder of the database will require that you obtain a registration code from the database author. As a registered user, you also have access to the puzzle editor. With the editor, you have the capability to create your own puzzle databases. You can choose to make your puzzle databases available on the Web as freeware, or you can choose to sell your database as shareware. The editor allows you to specify that a certain number of puzzles are playable for free (demo mode), while the remainder of the database is locked until a registration code is provided by you.
