If you are able to send messages, but cannot retrieve stored messages from the mobile, then you may
have indicated the wrong storage location in the fMML.
You have a choice between an SIM card and the internal memory.
This enables you to set the desired preference: Pref. / fMML Edit / Mobile Details.

You should note that infrared transmission works best if you place the two devices opposed to each
other at an angle 45°.

Our model for the Nokia 8810 does not always function reliably with infrared.
We have established that:
The ideal distance Palm-Mobile is approx. 20 cm.
Interference during communication caused by the chrome-plated case apperas to be reduced if the

Infrared transmission with the Siemens S25 has to be activated in menu 8-2-1 before you can use it.

Sometimes the Ericsson R320s doesn’t show the correct list of the new messages. Also here you can solve the problem by switching the mobile off and on.

If you want to receive and send messages with special characters with the Nokia 7110, please notice that Nokia doesn’t abide to the GSM-Default-Font. Therefore the special characters are not displayed correctly. This problem can not be solved. It appears also when you edit the messages with special characters directly on the mobile.

The operating system Palm OS 3.3 now directly supports infrared. You do not have to install the Palm Inc.
Ir-Enhancements to connect you Palm with your mobile phone via infrared. The fMML supports the
New Serial Manager introduced with Palm OS 3.3.

If you want to paste data from other applications with the clipboard, you can do this with the assistance of the virtual keyboard. There you can access to the functions of the clipboard with the menu ‘Edit’.

If the error message "Cannot create the database SMSDB" or "Die Datenbank SMSDB konnte nicht
erstellt werden" appears, then there is probably an older version of funSMS or PalmSMS installed on
your device. Delete funSMS / PalmSMS and the database SMSDB on the Palm device. Also delete the
database SMSDB on the PC in the backup directory of the PalmDesktop (probably
C:\Palm\Desktop\<UserName>\Backup\).

Background:
The database creator ID was changed between build 10022 and 10023. This is why the older version
must be deleted before the new one is installed. If you did not delete the older version before installing
the new one, you must delete the database SMSDB manually.
