This file includes installation instructions for the following platforms:




Palm OS Installation Instructions

EXE - Auto Installation from PC

  1. Click on the .exe link to download the Auto Install file. You will be given the option to either Open, Run or Save the file. If you Open (Run) the file, you will begin the setup and installation directly from the internet through the desktop computer and to the device.
  2. If you Save the file, we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer. Once it is there double-click on the .exe file to begin the setup and installation to the device.
  3. Do a normal HotSync between the computer and the device.
  4. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

Download

  1. Click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
  2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
  3. Open the .zip file on the Desktop of the desktop computer and extract all the files from the .zip folder into the new Olive Tree folder.

Install

  1. Open the Olive Tree folder and double click on Install_OliveTree.exe to begin the setup and installation of the necessary files to the device.
  2. Do a normal HotSync to the device.
  3. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

Download

  1. Click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
  2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
  3. Open the .zip file on the Desktop of the desktop computer and extract all the files from the .zip folder to the new Olive Tree folder.

Install

  1. Open the Palm Quick Install tool on the desktop computer.
  2. In the Olive Tree folder, locate the BibleReader.prc and any .pdb database files that you want to install to the device.
  3. Load these files into the Quick Install tool. Direct the BibleReader to main memory; direct the .pdb files to main memory or to the SD Card if you have one.
  4. Do a normal HotSync between the computer and the device.
  5. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

ZIP – Manual Installation from Mac

Note: you will need to install PocketMac or a similar interfacing software to follow the installation instructions below.

Download

  1. Click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the Mac.
  2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
  3. Use Stuffit to open the .zip file and extract the contents into the Olive Tree folder.
  4. Open the Olive Tree folder, locate the BibleReader.prc and any .pdb database files that you want to install to the device.

Install

  1. Load these files into the Install Handheld Files feature of the Palm Desktop. Direct the BibleReader to main memory; direct the .pdb files to main memory or to the SD Card if you have one.
  2. Do a normal HotSync to the device.
  3. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.



Palm OS Installation Instructions, from a computer running Windows Vista

The Quick Install Tool that comes with Palm OS devices is not currently compatible with the Vista Operating System. Below are a several installation options depending on your type of device.

Third Party Software Enables Palm Desktop Software to work with Vista
There is a third party application for sale that works with all Palm OS devices for installing applications such as the BibleReader using Windows Vista. The Palm Desktop Software must also be installed to your computer for this third party application to work.

Pocket PC Installation Instructions

  1. Open ActiveSync on the desktop computer and Explore to the \My Documents\ folder. Copy the .CAB file that matches the device's processor and paste it into the \My Documents\ folder in ActiveSync. Most current devices use the ARM processor.
  2. On the device, go to Start > File Explore > My Documents. Tap on the .CAB file to install the BibleReader application.

Install Database Files

  1. Explore in ActiveSync to the \My Documents\ -or- \SD Card\My Documents\ -or- \Storage Card\My Documents\ folder.
  2. In one of the above folders, right click, select New Folder, and name it Bible with a capital B.
  3. Open the \Bible\ folder in ActiveSync. From the Olive Tree folder on the Desktop, select any .pdb database files that you want to install to the device, copy the files, and paste them into the \Bible\ folder in ActiveSync. You may get a message about converting files and that is OK.
  4. When the installation is complete, on the device, go to Start > Programs. Select the BibleReader icon to open the application.

Note: you will need to install PocketMac or a similar interfacing software to follow the installation instructions below.

  1. Click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the Mac.
  2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.

  4. When the installation is complete, on the device, go to Start > Programs. Select the BibleReader icon to open the application.

Download

  1. Click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
  2. On the Desktop do a right click New Folder and call it Olive Tree.
  3. Doubleclick on the .zip file to open it and then Extract the contents into the Olive Tree folder that you created. Leave the Olive Tree folder open on the Desktop.

Transfer BibleReader and Database Files to Device

  1. Locate the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) inside of Vista and the open the My Documents folder in main memory of the device.
  2. From the Olive Tree folder Copy/Paste the olivetreeCE30.PPC_ARM.CAB file into the My Documents folder in the Device Manager.
  3. Then inside either the My Documents folder or the Storage Card/My Documents folder do a right click New Folder and call it Bible, with a capital B.
  4. Open the Bible folder and Copy/Paste any of the .pdb files you find in the Olive Tree folder into the Bible folder.

Install BibleReader Application

  1. Now on the handheld itself, go to Start > Programs > File Explorer and then open the appropriate My Documents folder and tap on the olivetreeCE30.PPC_ARM.CAB file. This will install the BibleReader onto the device.
  2. Go to Start > Programs on the handheld and you will find the BibleReader, tap on it to open the application. Then go to Menu > Library to select the file you installed for display on the screen.



Windows Mobile Smartphone Installation Instructions

Install Database Files

  1. To install the database files to main memory, Explore in ActiveSync to the following location (will vary depending on device): \IPSM\My Documents\ -or- \Storage\My Documents\ -or- \My Window Mobile-Based Device\My Documents\.
  2. To install the database files to a memory card, Explore in ActiveSync to the following location: \Storage Card\My Documents\.
  3. In the folder you chose above, right click, select New Folder, and name it Bible with a capital B.
  4. Open the \Bible\ folder in ActiveSync. From the Olive Tree folder on the Desktop, select any .pdb database files that you want to install to the device, copy the files, and paste them into the \Bible\ folder in ActiveSync.
  5. When the installation is complete, on the device, open the Start menu and select the BibleReader to open the application.

Windows Mobile Smartphone Installation Instructions, from a computer running Windows Vista

Download

  1. Download the .zip file for the product you have purchased and Save the .zip file to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
  2. On the Desktop do a right click New Folder and call it Olive Tree.
  3. Double click on the .zip file to open it and then Extract the contents into the Olive Tree folder that you created. Leave the Olive Tree folder open on the Desktop.

Install BibleReader

  1. Locate the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) inside of Vista and the open the My Documents folder in main memory of the device.
  2. From the Olive Tree folder Copy/Paste the olivetreeCE30.SP_2003.CAB file into the My Documents folder in the Device Manager.
  3. On the phone itself open the Start Menu, go to the File Manager, and open the My Documents folder. Select the olivetreeCE30.SP_2003.CAB file. This will install the BibleReader onto the device.

Install Database Files

  1. Inside either the My Documents folder or the Storage Card/My Documents folder in the Device Manager do a right click New Folder and call it Bible, with a capital B.
  2. Open the Bible folder in the Device Manager and Copy/Paste the .pdb files from the Olive Tree folder on your desktop into the Bible folder.
  3. Then open the Start Menu and find the BibleReader, select it from the list to open the application. Then go to Menu > Library to select the file you installed for display on the screen.
