Note:
If you install fingerDANCE on color device, it will be in color mode.
Otherwise, it will be black and white. For speed and compatibility reasons,
I prefer black and white over grayscales for non-color device.

To avoid any error, you must delete fD_DB on PocketC databases menu.
(only if you ever install fingerDANCE v0.88b on your palm).

Make sure you have the latest version of PocketC or PocketC run_time (v3.92)
and PToolBox Library (v6.01). The latest PocketC run_time and PToolBox
Library included in FDANCE.ZIP.


OVERVIEW:
fingerDANCE is a "Dance Dance Revolution" clone game.
Objective of this game is to hit the flowing arrow.


REQUIREMENT:
- PalmOS device (color or non-color) minimal palmIIIx or palmV (DragonBall EZ)
with palmOS v3.0 and later. This include Visor, Visor prism, TRGpro and
Sony Clie.
PalmIII (the old DragonBall) can run this game, but I haven't try running
fingerDANCE on it.
- PocketC v3.92 Shareware or Freeware. PocketC v3.92 RunTime (Freeware)
included on FDANCE.ZIP. Further information about PocketC can be found on
http://www.orbworks.com.
- PToolBox library v6.01 (freeware). This game library included on
FDANCE.ZIP. More information can be found at:
http://www.geocities.com/retro_01775/PToolboxlib.htm.


HOW TO INSTALL:
Install these files on your palm:
- fdance.prc, the main program.
- fD_editor.prc, fingerDANCE's dance editor.
- fD_song.pdb, fingerDANCE's external dance.
- Pocketc.prc (only if you don't have pocketc on your palm, or if your pocketc
version is under v3.92).
- Ptoolbox.prc, game library (if you haven't, or if your Ptoolbox library
version is under v6.01).

If you are not sure, install all 5 files.
Note: for registered PocketC, when you install PocketC from FDANCE.ZIP, you
will lost your registered version of PocketC. Simple just download
PocketC from PocketC homepage and install it again on your palm.


HOW TO PLAY:
Select a dance, tap on START or RESTART. There are 5 built-in dance, and
4 sample external dance (in fd_song.pdb).
Push buttons according to flowing arrow.
Tap on menu to go to preferences.
There are 2 mode of buttons in preferences:
Configuration 1:
< Address
\/ Page Down
/\ Page Up
> Todo
Configuration 2:
< Date Book
\/ Address
/\ Todo
> Memo Pad
Try to hit buttons when the flowing arrow on big arrow.
You can changes Sound ON/OFF while in the game.
You can changes Sound Level from palmOS > preferences > general > Game Sound
(outside fingerDANCE).
But you can not select dance, tap "About", "Credits" or "Top10" while in
the game.
You can try training mode to learn, but no Top10 list.


HOW TO USE fingerDANCE DANCE EDITOR:
Maximum of 17 user define dance can be created.
Create a new Dance. Enter beat per frame. Enter number or frame.
Tap on numbered beat, and select your step on the right.
You can rename the dance. Also changing beat per second.
When you want to save it, tap on "SAVE" button.
REMEMBER: tap "SAVE" button to save song!


SCORING:
There are several hit category (top is better):
- PERFECT!!! When you are perfectly hit the bar (*100).
- COOL!! When you hit the bar, but not perfect (*50).
- GOOD! When you hit the bar, but just touch the bar (*25).
- Max. Combo Maximum combination without an error (*21).
- MISS... When the bar is not hit (*-20).
- WRONG... When you hit empty (*-30).

palmOS application (datebook, address book,
todo and memopad) when not in the middle of
the game.

- Compatible with some DDR's dance (with some
limitation).
- 5 built-in dance, and 4 sample external dance.
- Accurate timing.
- fingerDANCE song editor, create your own
dance.
- December 19, 2000: v0.88b, fingerDANCE on the net, ready to eat your
battery :-).

FUTURE:
- Simple or full Midi/real song implementation.


KNOWN PROBLEM:
Speed: Yes.
While the size of main program is only about 10Kyte, fingerDANCE is processor
intensive program. Anything faster than DragonBall EZ 16MHz will give more
satisfication experience.
If you can not finish the song, or the flow bar stop before it is empty, you
have speed problem.
Try to install Cruise Control or another similar program to speeding up your
palm device.

Program: None.
Since day one, I never encounter any problem with fingerDANCE
(Visor Prism, palmOS v3.52H, and palmIIIx, memory upgrade onboard 8mega,
palmOS v3.30).
But nothing is perfect.
Different palmOS device and programs installed maybe cause a problem.
