Installation 
Note: If you do not intend on using or installing the iambic Mail Conduit, please do the following to install only the application to your Palm OS device:

Windows

<LI type=1>Launch the Palm Desktop Install Tool by tapping Start |
Programs | Palm Desktop | Palm Install Tool.

<LI type=1>Choose your Palm device User name from the drop down list on
the Install Tool. The Install Tool will queue the application for installation
to your Palm OS device on the next synchronization. If
you are not sure of your Palm device User name, tap the HotSync� icon on your
Palm device. A screen will appear which says, "Welcome, . name. ". This is the
name which must appear in the User Name field on the Install Tool. If the
correct name is not one of the choices on the drop down list, then you will
need to first synchronize the Palm OS device to establish the name
on the User Name list.

<LI type=1>Locate the iambic Mail application called iambicMail.prc by
tapping the Add button. Once you
locate it, double click it to select it. This will prepare the application to
be installed on the Palm OS device with the next
synchronization. 
<LI type=1>Dock your Palm OS device in the cradle and press the HotSync button.

<LI type=1>After synchronization, tap on the Application Picker. The
Application Picker is the silk screened button containing a house icon to
the immediate left of the graffiti writing area. You should see the iambic
Mail icon in alphabetical order with the other Palm applications. Tap the
iambic Mail icon to open it.

Note: When you first install iambic Mail, you will be able to run it
for three days without a permanent license or demo license. To obtain a free
30 day demo license, you will need to access this web page: <A

<LI type=1>If you downloaded the software from the iambic Software website,
unstuff the iambic Mail file using your stuffit compression software. Next,
open HotSync Manager on your Mac and select Install from the HotSync Menu.

<LI type=1>Locate the iambic Mail file (iambicmail.prc) using the Add to List
button. Once you locate iambicmail.prc., select Open, then Add File. 
<LI type=1>Dock your Palm OS device in the cradle and
press the HotSync button.

<LI type=1>Synchronize your Palm Computing connected organizer. After
synchronizing your handheld device, tap the Application Picker. You should see
the iambic Mail icon in alphabetical order with the other Palm applications.
Tap the iambic Mail icon to open it.

<LI type=1>Note: When you first install iambic Mail, you will be able to run
it for three days without a permanent unlock code or demo license. To obtain a

The iambic Mail Conduit
If you are using a PC running Microsoft Windows 95 or higher, and one of the supported e-mail applications*, you can download your e-mail to and from your Palm OS device using the iambic Mail Conduit. Please follow the instructions below to install the iambic Mail conduit and the iambic Mail prc file.

iambic Mail Conduit: (Windows Only)

<LI type=1>Before installing the iambic Mail Conduit, you must first install the Palm Ma il conduit that came with your device. For instructions on this, please see your Palm OS device manual.

<LI type=1>You can download the iambic Mail Conduit from <a href="http://www.iambic.com/download/pilot/mail/iambicMailConduit.exe">http://www.iambic.com/download/pilot/mail/iambicMailConduit.exe</a>. Once the iambicMailConduit.exe file is on your computer, double click it to begin installation.


<LI type=1>Follow the on screen instructions and then select the language version of iambic Mail you wish to install. You will need to synchronize your device to make sure the iambicmail.prc file has been installed. Once the install wizard has completed, you will have two selectable options. The first is to view the readme file and the second is to configure the iambic Mail conduit. You can then hit the Finish button.

<li>*Note: The following e-mail applications are supported for users running Palm desktop 3.x; Exchange 4.0 or higher, Windows Messaging 4.0, Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora 3.03 or higher, and Lotus Mail 2.5, 6.0, 7.0. For users running Palm desktop 4.x Eudora 3.0.1 or higher, Lotus cc:Mail 6.0 or higher, Microsoft Exchange 5.0 or higher, Microsoft Outlook 97 or higher, Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator 4.5 or higher. </li>

<LI type=1>Now Hotsync your device, and the iambicmail.prc will be installed and your e-mail will now be transferred each time you hotsync.

Entering the iambic Mail Licenses:

To enter the iambic Mail demo license, tap the Palm device menu silkscreen button (round icon at the bottom left of the Palm
device, next to the graffiti writing area) From the menu bar that appears select Options | About and tap the
"Purchasing" button. In the "How Do I Purchase" screen, tap the "Enter License" button and enter your license 

<li>Permanent Unlock Code:</li>
Once you have purchased, if you are currently running an iambic Mail demo, and have the latest version, there is no need to
uninstall and then reinstall the software. All you will need to do is obtain your permanent unlock code using the process below.

To obtain your unlock code, Log onto to <a href="http://customerservice.iambic.com">http://customerservice.iambic.com</a> using your account info emailed previously. If you
have lost this info, you can ask for it to be automatically re-emailed to you on this page. After you log in, on the main screen
you should see a notice "You have new unused certificates!" Click on the link to continue. If you do not see that message, choose
"Add a New Product" and select iambic Mail. Now open iambic Mail on your Palm device. Tap the Menu button on your handheld
(bottom left section of the screen). Select Options | About | Purchasing. You should see your device ID on the screen. Enter your
certificate (if not already filled in for you), and your device ID. The system will now automatically generate your unlock code
and you can enter it on the Enter License screen.
