Changes from Beta 4 to Beta 41:
1) Name change from PilotPix to PPix. A US Robotics representative told
me they had gotten in trouble with the Pilot Pen company, and had to change
the product name to PalmPilot. She suggested I do a namechange, too.

Changes from Beta 3 to Beta 4:
1) Use of 4 levels of greyscale available on Pilot. Doubles required bytes
per image, but significantly improves the image. You may need to adjust
the contrast level on your pilot to get the best possible display. The
contrast level is the thumbwheel on the left side of the Pilot case.

Changes from Beta 2 to Beta 3:
1) Fixed source of General Protection Faults which occurred during
OpenFile and SaveAs Dialogs.
2) Windows application now handles 1, 8, and 24 bit palette BMP files.
3) Memory allocation failures are announced to the user.

PilotPix is a windows application which provides a way to view BMP image
files on a Pilot.

The windows application accepts BMP files as input, converts a color or
grayscale image to a dithered monochrome, and generates a PRC application
file as output. Download the PRC file to your Pilot (but erase any
existing PPix files from your Pilot first) and enjoy the image.

There are some shortcomings in this beta version -
1 - You can keep only one PilotPix file on your Pilot at a time, and only one PilotPix app
on your Pilot at a time.
YOU MUST DELETE THE OLD FILE FROM THE PILOT (use Memory app to do this)
BEFORE DOWNLOADING A NEW ONE.
2 -The Pilot application can be exited thru the hard buttons, or the soft
Calculator icon, but not the soft application, menu, or find icons. For
example, touch the Calculator soft icon, then touch the done button to
exit the dialog. Then you can switch to another application with the soft
application icon, or operate the other soft icons.
