Introduction

Nisqually is the handheld conversion from the great web based game from GameHouse

You simply have to remove all the blocks from the screen by sliding them into positions where they make lines of three or more! Sounds easy? It is!... at first...

Nisqually Features

How To Install

Use an extractor program such as WinZip on the PC or Stuffit Expander on the Mac to get at the Nisqually files. Install the game by double-clicking the prc file.

Use the HotSync button as usual to install the game onto your handheld.

Now run Nisqually and tap the screen to play the game!

If you've got any queries about Nisqually or the registration process, first check out our frequently asked questions page on our website (you must be connected to the internet to access this). If this doesn't help, get in touch with us at support@astraware.com. If you've got any questions (or suggestions, we love those) about the game itself, please get in touch with us at the email address at the top of this page.

How To Play

GAME OBJECTIVE

Remove at least the number of blocks required for one level to move on to the next one. Complete all 18 levels to win!

Obliterate blocks by matching them in vertical or horizontal lines of 3 or more of the same colour. Tap on a block and then tap on succeeding adjacent blocks to swap their positions.

Tap on the currently selected block to deselect it, or a non-adjacent block to start working with that block. If 3 or more blocks in a row or column are the same colour, they'll fade into oblivion and the blocks above them will drop down as far as possible onto the blocks below.

LEVELS

To move onto the next level of play, you must remove the required number of blocks for the level. A bonus can be earned for finishing a level before the clock gets down to zero.

CONTROLS

Use the stylus to tap on the blocks to select them. Once selected, arrows will point at the block until you select another block with which to switch it.

BLOCKERS

When the blockers start appearing, watch out! They don't move, and you can't wipe them out, either. They will surely stretch your strategy to another level.

Hints and Tips

After playing for a short time, you'll start to find some trickier situations! Hopefully these hints will help you to advance!

1 - Avoid splits! If you take out too many blocks from the middle, you could be left with two columns with a split - and that means you can't move blocks between them! TIP Work from the sides to avoid splits!

2 - Count Carefully! Try to make sure you have multiples of threes, but if you have 4 or 5 of a colour, you'll have to remove them all at once. TIP Count to make sure you'll be able to remove all of them!

Registering

If you downloaded the game straight from the internet, from Astraware's web pages, or from one of the popular Palm download sites, then your copy is in 'Demo' form. Demo means that you can play 10 games for free, and then decide whether to register it or not. After these games are up, the program will display a short message before each game.

In Demo form, you can play 10 games of Nisqually for free, as you decide whether you like it or not. After these games are up, the program will display a short message asking you to register or purchase a full version from a shop!

If you beam a demo to someone else, and they also like the game, then they can register it either by purchasing a copy from a local store, or by purchasing online.

Registering Online:

For those that like the speed and convenience of buying of the internet, when you register for the game, you'll get a key which will unlock the game and remain valid for future 1.x upgrades. Go to the web page at http://palm.astraware.com/nisqually
for more details.

You'll need to know your HotSync ID which you can find by running Nisqually, and going into the menu, and selecting the 'register' option. Your HotSync ID (or username) will be filled in for you below.

When you register, Astraware will generate a key based on your ID, which will normally be sent out by email within 48 hours of you registering. When you receive your key, go to the same register option, and enter the key into the space provided.

Submit your High Scores!

Registered users of the game are entitled to submit their high scores to our Internet High Score table.

Just visit the Nisqually web pages at http://palm.astraware.com/nisqually and select the link to view high scores.

To submit your own score, you need to go to the menu in the game, and select 'export high score'. This will provide you with a code which you can then type into our site:

http://www.astraware.com/palm/nisqually/high/

You can only submit high scores once you've beaten the scores built into the game!

(Astraware reserves the right to remove this board or facility without any notice, or to remove individual names if necessary)
