Getting the WhatWords is the key to the game - but to get the highest scores
means that you also have to take advantage of any bonus letters that
appear! These are highlighted, and if you use one in your word, the score will
be much higher! If you can use more than one the score is higher still, and if
you manage to use them in your WhatWords you'll be getting the highest scores of
all!
The biggest challenge to making WhatWords is that you'll accidentally make
other words on the way - which while that sounds OK because you will make a few
extra points, it always seems to use up that special letter that you've been
waiting for ages to get! The best thing to do is to be very careful about each
swap you make next to the WhatWord that you're currently forming!
If the letters you need aren't coming quickly enough, you can always take a
risk by tapping the BLAST button! This will knock out a few of the
letters on the board, so that more will fall in from the top of the screen. Its
a good way to get some of the rarer letters for your WhatWord, but don't use it
when you've got nearly everything you need, otherwise you might lose more than
you gain!
If you downloaded the game straight from the internet, from Astraware's web
pages, or from one of the popular Palm download sites, then your copy is in
'Demo' form. Demo
means
that you can play 10 games for free, and then decide whether to register it or
not. After these games are up, the program will display a short message before
each game.
In Demo form, you can play 10 games of WhatWord for Palm for free, as you
decide whether you like it or not. After these games are up, the program will
display a short message asking you to register or purchase a full version from a
shop!
If you beam a demo to someone else, and they also like the game, then
they can register it either by purchasing a copy from a local store, or by
purchasing online.
