Installation using the exe installer
Run IDGuardWindowsInstaller.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
Exe installer uses fixed install location under your default Program Files directory. Use the zip installer to override this default.
Installation using the zip installer
- Unpack the zip contents into any folder and run IDGuardDesktop.exe.
- Install IDGuard.prc onto your Palm OS device.
Uninstallation
- Delete created data sources (IDGuard menu)
- If you used the exe installer, then use Start Menu > Programs > Resco IDGuard > Uninstall
- If you used the zip installer, then delete the installation folder manually.
Additional details:
- IDGuard storage is located under Documents and Settings as a subfolder of the hidden Application Data folder.
You will need a suitable file manager to access this data.
- If you want to delete the registry settings, then launch regedit and locate the string IDGuard
Palm OS users
Palm OS side:
- Make sure you use the newest version of the Palm OS IDGuard.1)
- Make sure your Data Source(s) use the latest format:
Open the Data Source and check if the Login dialog shows the checkbox Upgrade Data Source Version -
you just need to tick this checkbox. 2)
(If the checkbox does not show, no upgrade is needed.)
Desktop side:
- Open Hotsync Setup dialog (main menu)
- Install IDGuard conduit
- Set Default Sync Action as Synchronize. (This is actually the default.)
- To plug in IDGuard to the Palm Desktop use Menu > Tools > Palm OS > Advanced > Palm Desktop Integration.
Since now, IDGuard will synchronize Data Sources during each Hotsync.

IDGuard for Palm OS v1 will not synchronize.

In the past we used to suggest the password change as the tool to force the upgrade.
While this procedure works, the Login dialog offers simpler way.
