1. IMPORTANT NOTES AND KNOWN ISSUES

1. Installation Instructions
   Printed installation instructions for this update are included with the update kit. They may also be found on the CD: Update Instructions.pdf.
   
   Note: AlphaSmart Manager for Dana will not let you send an update file to Dana. You must use the Setup > Update Dana System Software menu item instead.



2. What's New in Dana 1.5
   
   • Wireless file transfers to and from the network using WiFile. AlphaWord can now wirelessly transfer text files to and from a network!
   • No "first HotSync" files are required: AlphaWord's large dictionary, AlphaWord's thesaurus, PrintBoy 6, WiStat, and PalmReader are all built in. In the event that batteries run out or a hard-reset is performed Dana is still fully functional.
   • Easier wireless setup with automatic access point detection. Dana now includes the ability to detect access points and configure a connection to them. This feature is easily access through WiStat, Dana's 's wireless network status tool.
   • More reliable wireless connections due to optimizations and bug fixes.
   • PrintBoy 6 replaces the older PrintBoy 5 included with previous Dana versions for more robust print capability. Additionally, drivers for all supported applications are now built-in.
   • "Two-button on" option prevents accidental power-ons when carrying Dana in a backpack.
   • The application launcher is now wide-screen enabled for quicker access to your applications.
   • Improved battery management provides better recharging.
