Fortune is a FREE program which delivers a fresh fortune cookie to you
each morning. You'll be surprised at the wisdom of the cookie!
Every morning, Fortune will pop up a window with the day's fortune.
During the day, you may re-read the fortune at any time by tapping the
"Today's Fortune" button.
If you don't want the fortunes to appear automatically, you may
turn off the "Display Every Morning" feature in the options dialog.

Installation / Removal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fortune is compatible with versions 1.0 to 3.5.2 of the Palm OS system
software. It requires 18K of free memory on your handheld.
Installing Fortune
------------------
1) Use the install program that came with your Palm Desktop software
to install the <Fortune.prc> file.
2) HotSync(tm) your handheld to complete the installation.
Removing Fortune
----------------
1) For Palm OS 1.0 - 2.0.6: Start the Memory application and tap the
"Delete apps" button. Select "Fortune" and tap the "Delete" button.
For all other Palm OS versions: Tap the "Applications" icon and use
the Delete menu command. Select "Fortune" and tap the "Delete"
button.
2) IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE RUNNING VERSION 2.0.3 OR LOWER OF PALMOS,
YOU SHOULD RESET YOUR PALMPILOT AFTER REMOVING THIS SOFTWARE. PRESS
A PIN INTO THE RESET HOLE ON THE BACK OF THE DEVICE TO FORCE A
RESET.

Restrictions on Distribution

We encourage you to copy and distribute this version of Fortune with
the following restrictions:
o You may copy and distribute the <Fortune.prc> and <ReadMe.txt>
files together as a package, but you may not distribute the files

Software License Agreement

Grant of License
----------------
Cyclos grants you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use
one copy of the Fortune software on a single computer.
Limitations
-----------
1) You may not disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer Fortune, or
make any other attempt to learn about the source code for Fortune.
2) You may not modify the object code for Fortune. You may not merge
Fortune with another program, translate Fortune or create
derivative works based on Fortune.
3) You may not assign this license to another party without prior
written consent from Cyclos.
4) You may not ship, transfer, or re-export, directly or indirectly,
Fortune into any country prohibited by the United States Export
Administration Act and the regulations thereunder. You may not use
Fortune for any purpose prohibited by the same.
Termination
-----------
This license and your right to use Fortune will terminate automatically
if you violate any part of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must
destroy all copies of Fortune in your possession.
Ownership
---------
Cyclos is the sole owner of all rights and interests in Fortune,
including but not limited to all patent rights, copyrights, and trade
secrets in Fortune. All rights not expressly granted are reserved to
Cyclos.
Warranty
--------
FORTUNE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". CYCLOS MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED. CYCLOS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT FORTUNE WILL MEET
YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT THE OPERATION OF FORTUNE WILL BE UNINTER-
RUPTED OR ERROR FREE.
Limitation of Liability

CYCLOS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL,
INDIRECT OR SIMILAR DAMAGES IN RELATION TO THIS AGREEMENT, OR FOR ANY
CLAIM BY ANY OTHER PARTY, EVEN IF CYCLOS, OR AN AGENT OF CYCLOS HAS
BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL
CYCLOS' LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES EVER EXCEED THE PRICE PAID FOR THE
LICENSE TO USE THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE CLAIM. THE
PERSON USING THE SOFTWARE BEARS ALL RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND
PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE.
US Government Restricted Rights

Fortune is provided with RESTRICTED RIGHTS. Use, duplication, or
disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth
in sub-paragraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Com-
puter Software clause at DFARS 252.227-7013. Contractor/manufacturer
is Cyclos, PO Box 31417, San Francisco, CA 94131.
General
-------
All matters relating to this Agreement shall be governed by the laws
of the state of California. If any provision of this Agreement shall
be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be contrary to law,
that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and
the remaining provisions of this Agreement will remain in full force
and effect.
