Pilot-DB allows the use of plugins to extend the functionality of the application. These add-ons are not in general distributed with Pilot-DB as they change regularly. They are located on our web site in the db-plugins-xxx.zip file. The list of available plugins is subject to frequent change and so may not be up-to-date.

Plugins

db-memoexport.prc

This plugin exports a record to the Memo application.

db-report.prc

db-colorselect.prc

With a machine running PalmOS 3.5 or above, lists of records are displayed in colour (or greyscale). This plugin allows you to change the colour (or shade of grey).

db-information.prc

This plugin allows you to display information about the database currently being viewed.

db-example.prc

This file is just an example for developers that displays at various points the names of the developers of Pilot-DB.

db-DB3vfs.prc

This plugin allows you to install a database on an expansion card and open it as if it were on the Palm itself.

db-DBold.prc

This plugin is a driver that makes it possible to view and edit databases built with early versions of Pilot-DB.

db-JFile3.prc

This plugin is a driver that enables you to view databases built with JFile 3.x. It does not allow creating or editing the database structure.

db-MobileDB.prc

This plugin is a driver that enables you to view and edit databases built with MobileDB 3.x.

Each plugin has a specific use that cannot be described here. Refer to the documentation file supplied with the plugin if there is one. For general use, refer to the chapter covering the use of plugins.

Note

Other plugins do exist, including a barcode reader. They are not, however, Open Source. For further information, please contact the developer of the particular plugin that interests you.
